Birthday Girl

Well, I'm not dead after all! My apologies for the more-than-a-week absence from posting. I've been on a mildly dry spell in the creative department this past week (and I can't yet promise it well let up in the coming week either, though I certainly hope so). In the meantime, I have at least finished one project...a commission by my friends Richard & Jessica to do an invitation for their daughter's (my honorary "neice's") upcoming 2nd birthday party. And yes, the little girl on the invitation is a caricature of her. Obviously the blank spot on the cake is for text. And there you have it! Enjoy....

I do enjoy it, mr gubicza! We're trying to decide where to print now!

Thanks, glad you two like it...especially the co-commissioner himself.
Why you having second thoughts about VistaPrint, dick?

I'm not, Jessica is... She wants to do it cheaper, so it might end up at Wal-Mart or something. It needs to be cheaper...

Yes, Yes, we are cheap!!! I didn't want to spend $12+ on invitations. A little high in my books. And plus, we were running out of time cause I was taking too long to decide. Printed them as 4x6 at walmart 1-hr. Don't worry, I think they look good! Besides, 19cents ea is pretty good!! But they are going in the mail on Tuesday, so you should get yours maybe wednesday. I think they turned out great, even if they were printed at walmart!

Oh, one more thing. THANY YOU very much for drawing this for me. I like doing something different instead of the usual kid theme b-day stuff! I'll get enough of disney princess, strawberry shortcake, etc when she's able to decide for herself!
Thanks again!!
