If You're Not First, You're Last.

Well, I saw Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby this weekend, and I laughed quite a lot. Afterwards I was inspired to do an illustration of Ricky Bobby himself (along with the lovely Karen). It's no secret that I'm horrible with likenesses, and that's no different here. Hopefully I at least captured the spirit of the character even if it fails to look like his real life counterpart.

And here are the pencil prelims.

And here's one extra bonus sketch I did of the character. Whether you've seen the movie or not, you'll likely recognize this one.

I doubt I'll ever see the movie. Will you draw it for me?

Amazing movie, even more amazing sketches!!!

The "Help Me TOm Cruise" bit was funny.

The commentator goes, "What's surprising is how did Ricky Bobby get out of his clothes so fast?"
