Christmas Card 2015

Here's the art that appears on my 2015 Christmas cards.
Though my original holiday card tradition began by featuring my characters Jenn & Bueno every year, my most recent cards have have featured other random characters/drawings. This year marks Bueno's return to the tradition! I'm sure Jenn's enjoying herself too, somewhere nearby.

Hope each and every one of you have a very happy Holidays and a great New Year!

Conan Star Wars Crossovers

Some Conan O'Brien/Star Wars crossover fan art. The "Conan" show put out a call for crossover fan art for possible inclusion in their upcoming December 17th "The Force Awakens" special, so I had to contribute a couple of pieces, just in case!

A little Conan trivia to explain the joke in the "Yub Nub/Jub-Jub" piece: Back in his days as a writer for "The Simpsons", Conan was responsible for the name of Patty and Selma's pet iguana, Jub-Jub.

Jenn and Bueno: Cowgirl

Jenn and Bueno in a cowgirl pinup! Another remake of an older one.
(
REVISED FILE in 2018: Not a complete re-drawing, but tweaked a few areas of the piece to make it a little stronger than the original 2015 post.)

Jenn and Bueno Phone Case!

This was art I made for a Jenn & Bueno phone case to sell in my recently opened Redbubble shop.  I mainly made it just so I could have one, but if you'd like to have one, too, here is the link to my store!

Note: The slight grainy quality of the photo of the actual phone case on the right is due to the fact that I wasn't using a flash (too much glare on the case) and so the picture was a little dark and had to be lightened in Photoshop--in person the colors are quite vibrant and clear.

Jenn and Bueno: Schoolgirl

Jenn and Bueno in a schoolgirl pinup. Mainly because I wanted to update an older J&B piece of the same. Enjoy!

Jenn & Bueno: Halloween Bones!

No bones about it, Jenn and Bueno wish you all a very HAPPY HALLOWEEN!
(And if this seems familiar to any long-time watchers, yeah, it's a remake of a much older piece).

Jenn Eating Halloween Apples

Halloween is fast approaching, and it wouldn't be right if I didn't do a Halloween-themed piece or two. For starters, here's a pin-up of Jennifer dressed as a witch and posing with apples. That qualifies for Halloween, right?

Inspired by (vintage) photo reference.

Jenn & Bueno: Happy Back to the Future Day!

Great Scott! The future is finally here! And I’m celebrating it with an updated version (both art and text) of the Jenn & Bueno piece I originally posted at the beginning of the year.

As anyone who loves the movies or uses the internet knows, October 21, 2015 is the date that Mary and Doc traveled to the future in Back to the Future II. Those films are my favorites of all time, which leaves me feeling both excited and bittersweet about today’s date. After today, the future of those movies will forever be in the past…what a strange feeling…

Happy Future Day, everyone!

Jenn and Bueno and Me

Just as a fun exercise, here I am with my creations, Jennifer and Bueno. I actually did this once a few years ago, but it was beyond time to make an updated (and hopefully superior) version.

Besides, I've been obsessed with Roger Rabbit since childhood, so it's only appropriate I have at least one decent cartoon/real world combo of my own.

Jenn Reading and Relaxing REDUX

This is technically a pin-up from last year, but I'm posting it again because I’ve reworked it. Yes. I seem to be on a “tweaking or redoing older pieces” kick.

The original, very informative description:
A pin-up of of my character, Jennifer, lounging around and enjoying a book.  And there’s a lot of green for reasons I can’t even explain.

Pose inspired by photo reference.

Jenn & Bueno: JUMP!

The classic "Action-Packed Jump!™" image of Jenn & Bueno has been my go-to "stock" image of them for a while now, including on the header of this very blog. The art in the old version was getting kind of dated, but I still liked the overall image....so I updated it! Now I have a new-old stock image of J&B to last me another few years. Maybe.

Jenn & Bueno: Hipsters

I originally drew a hipster version of Jenn for the Sketch Dailies “Hipster” topic a few months back. I decided to update the picture with a hipster version of Bueno–and just redrew the entire thing while I was at it. Enjoy!

Jenn & Bueno: Go Team!

A reworking of a piece from a few years ago. Jenn and Bueno as cheerleaders for some reason. Perhaps it's early Halloween costumes?

As a bonus, here are a couple of prelim sketches. These were originally posted to my instagram (andrewwillmore), which you should be following if you like sketches, doodles and random photography.

Jenn Model Sheet

I thought I'd try making a model sheet for Jenn, because in all the years I've been drawing her, I've never done it.
It's not something I usually do for any of my characters--partially because of laziness and partially because of lack of skill.
Hopefully this turned out OK as far as model sheets go. It was a fun little exercise anyway! Now I guess I need to make one for Bueno at some point...

Jenn on a Shark!

I've been seeing some artists post pieces inspired by "Shark Week", so I said to myself, "Well, now's as good a time as any to draw a pin-up of Jenn riding an inflatable shark, I guess."

First I was tagged by a friend for the "Meet the Artist" thing that's going around, and then before I got around to doing one it became a Sketch Dailies topic...so now I've finally made one! So! Meet me!

Back in Pog Form!

Milhouse is one of my very favorite Simpsons characters, so I couldn’t resist drawing him for the Sketch Dailies “Milhouse” topic! And I drew inspiration from his classic "ALF pogs" line from season 7, because why not?

I Love Totoro

I combined two of this week's Sketch Dailies topics into one illustration--Totoro and Lucille Ball! (I mean, there was no way I could resist joining the Totoro topic. There's no end to my love for that movie!)

Duck's Book! (Childhood Re-Draw)

Here's a new illustration based on a drawing I did as a small child.  The original art comes from a whole story I drew telling the story of "Duck", who buys a new book only to have it ruined in the rain as he's leaving the store. If you care to see every page of the childhood book, I posted it all (along with snarky commentary by adult me) here on my tumblr. Enjoy!

Alice VHS Dream

As the description attached to the actual image explains, this piece was inspired by a dream.

I was in an old, dark house where a witch-like lady showed me a poor quality VHS bootleg of Disney's 1951 "Alice in Wonderland" (one of my favorite Disney movies).  In the movie, there was a scene in which Alice visited the Evil Queen from Disney's "Snow White", hoping to find a spell that would take her home from Wonderland. The scene had a very dark and ominous tone, which was why it was cut from the official version of the movie. Supposedly the VHS I was being shown was the only known surviving copy of the unedited movie.

And just in case anyone cares, here's the original image without the bad VHS effects.

Dream Journal: Community Pie

I've kept dream journals off-and-on for many years, but always in text form. One thing I've always wanted to try is do transcribe them as comics.

I've had a few especially weird dreams recently, so I'm experimenting doing little sketch-comic dream journals. Like the one you see here, which guest-starred the cast of the TV show "Community". Enjoy!

I've had a few especially weird dreams this week, so I'm experimenting doing little sketch-comic dream journals. Like the one you see here, which was all about a sequel to "Guardians of the Galaxy". Enjoy!
