Tigers for Tomorrow

For the first time in a while, here's a non-art post! (Art returns later this week...with some more Harry Potter art, specifically).

This weekend a friend and I paid a visit to Tigers for Tomorrow, which is an exotic animal rescue preserve that gives homes and protection to said rescued animals (mostly tigers, as you might have guessed). It was an insanely hot day, so most of the big cats were rath
er sedate and listless, hiding in shaded corners or shelters. But I still got a few decent pictures, some of which are included here.

Among the non-feline species at the preserve was that lovable and gregarious relative of the raccoon: the coatimundi (an animal I was previously unaware of).

There was also a petting zoo of sorts, with a camel, a zebra, and a plethora of goats and other barnyard creatures.

Thanks for the comments, guys...

Brian: I actually DO wish there were some sane way I could have climbed in there with the tigers! (Sadly there were only INsane ways to achieve that, so I remained safely outside the enclosures instead.)
